The Job Shadow Committee of WFEL is collaborating with the WVCSD staff (administration, teachers and advisors) in order to create opportunities that provide extra-curricular learning experiences for the High school students in the WVCSD. The goals of these opportunities are to help students gain “real life” work experience that will help steer them into the best college and/or profession and provide students with valuable networking resources and skills that will help them be competitive as they enter the workforce.
We believe that expanded student job shadowing and internship experiences will provide our students with opportunities to connect education and work. By connecting our children with professionals we will allow them to benefit from discussions with experienced alums and parents/community members, and reinforce career goals by practicing communication with employers, learning specific job skills and experiencing hands-on learning.
